London

£ 1,650 Pot Limit Omaha - London Omaha Championship - Final Table

London was a great week for me resulting in two rewarding performances.

I managed to get the most money the the £ 1,650 Pot Limit Omaha - London Omaha Championship - 7-Max coming in 3rd for £18,302. A lovely score after a batting performance which saw me go from the short stack on the bubble to chip leader when an ICM deal was agreed four-handed.

This was a very strong Final Table and I'm delighted with my performance but a slight regret I couldn't bag the trophy home to Galway with me.  Here's a link to my post Final Table interview https://www.facebook.com/61550726000727/videos/1545184009612686/

Hammers in the Main Event

I jumped straight into the £ 700 No Limit Hold'em - London Main Event and amassed a decent stack for day two. My big story of this tournament is running QQ into JJ for a big bubble attacking stack, unfortunately the Jack on the turn put an end to that plan.

I was left grinding a micro-stack of four big blinds after that hand. Luckily Dara "Doke" O'Kearney was playing at the next table and was a great help with advice chatting between hands on what turned out to be a prolonged bubble. Thanks Dara.

My finishing position was 69th of the 84 players paid a not to be sneezed at £2,000. I think these two results show how I'm developing as a player. I have no doubt that in the past I would have probably of spewed my chip in these bubble spots.

Claremorris

Mayo Poker Festival 2024

The McWilliam Park Hotel, Claremorris, Co. Mayo was the venue last weekend for the Irish Poker Tours Mayo Poker Festival 2024.

The feature event was won by Thomas Gallagher after a heads up deal. My Buddies Fintan & Ian both took down side events a feat I just fell short of achieving.

Trophy Crossbar

I had no joy in the main event in Claremorris but did manage a 2nd place finish in the € 150 No Limit Hold'em - Saturday Night Freezeout. I entered the final with the low stack of the nine players and six getting paid. The Final Table went perfectly until losing all the chips heads up in a flip.

No trophy but my first points on the board for 2024 in my defense of the Irish Poker Tours leaderboard rankings

Mick, Derek, Gilly & Jude, some of Irelands best at a recent IrishPokerTour event

It's a quiet couple of weeks for me now be for the Irish Poker Tour returns on March the 8th with a stop in The Macau Casino, Cork.

The following week It's a big one with the St. Patrick’s €100K for €100. What a tournament this should be with a €100,000 guaranteed prize pool for just €100 buy in. These events at The GreenIsle Hotel, Clondalkin, Dublin are always top class and this one should be extra fun falling on St Patrick's weekend.

There's a full schedule of side events planned for the four day festival which begins Thursday the 14th of March. Details of the festival can be found here LinkStPaticks100for100

Until the next blog, be lucky at the tables.
