Summer 24 The Second Half

My last blog which covered the first half of the Summer recalled visiting exotic locations suck as Lisbon and Malaga. This second half of the summer blog is more of the same with tales of visits to exotic Dundalk and Claremorris. I did also manage a trip to London where some wages were pick up and a fruitless return to Bratislava.

Bratislava

I travelled to Bratislava in the middle of July. I can't seem to get a touch in this casino. I won't stop trying though. It was a great festival and I'll be returning for the Autumn Festival at the end of October.

I did play a live streamed cash game, It was good fun but I spent most of the game in a hole after losing a big pot early. I  eventually finish the game down small.

Dundalk

The last weekend in July brought a trip to Dundalk for The Irish Poker Tours Northern Poker Festival. The main event was a €300 entry with €60,000 guaranteed prize pool. The guarantee was smashed again as is the norm with Irish Poker Tours Festivals and I'm happy to report I got a nice chunk of that prize pool.

Dundalk Final Table Line Up

No trophy but I was very happy to bink a 3rd place finish in this one and pocket €8,000. It was a star studded field with two tables remaining including Rory Liffey, Andy Black, Big MickG, Sia Brown and Ray Bryant. In the end I went out losing a flip blind on blind but there was many flips won and lost to get to the last three players and overall I was delighted with the result.

London

Next was UKIPT London at the Hippodrome Casino. The Main Event had £1,100 buy in with a £696,000 prize pool. I got myself some of this prize pool too but was a lot less happy with my share than I had been the previous week in Dundalk. Day one of this even went really well here's the daily round up from pokernews live reporting.
From Pokernews.com

Day one couldn't have gone much better. Day two was brutally character building. I lost every hand I played and then lost a massive pot with AA in the big blind. Button raised 2.5 BB, I make it 7 BB from the BB and he jam's 50 bigs with pocket nines; nine in the window. I did manage to replenish my remaining stack but lost a number of flips inside the money to burst in 49th for £2500.

Shout out to my good buddy Conor "hammers" O'Driscoll who final tabled the main event in London.

In Action the Hippodrome Casino

I dusted myself off and entered a £300 side event which isn't showing on the Hendon Mob results. This unfortunately was more of the same getting it in with Aces again, verses eights and losing a pot for the chip lead at the start of the final table. Out in 9th position for £700.

Claremorris & Dublin

The last two weekends were spent playing the great Irish Poker Tour with stops in Claremorris and The Green Isle Hotel Dublin.
Chip Leader Claremorris

I entered the final table in Claremorris as chip leader but that was as good as it got. I lost every pot eventually finishing in 6th position for €1050.

Last weekend was spent busting tournaments in the Green Isle Dublin. Not a sniff of a result was had.

I'm heading off to the Mediterranean for some sun and relaxation this week where the only poker I will be  playing is online at KKpoker.
