Autumn 24, London, Killarney & A Trophy - Part 2

Image
Clonmel I bricked all events at last weekends Irish Poker Tour's "Siege of Clonmel Festival". It is thankfully unusual for me to go a festival without some returns these days so hopefully that's the bad one out of the way with a busy few weeks coming up.  Tommy Heads up in the Main Event Clonmel Congratulations to all the winners over the weekend in Clonmel especially Tommy Geleziunas who finished 1st in both the PLO-&-Max Event and the Main Event for €2,500 and €20,000. Well done Tommy!   There was a great response over the weekend to last week blog with many people mentioning it to me in Clonmel. Thanks everyone for the likes and shares on social media platforms and indeed everyone who has taken the time to read the blog. Dublin Poker Club I had three events left to cover finishing up last week and will start with the best result at my sponsors KKPoker's tournament in Dublin. Victory at Dublin Poker Club It was Fantastic to win the first event my sponsors KK

Autumn 24, London, Killarney & A Trophy - Part 1

The last blog brought us up to the end of August. The six weeks since have been pretty hectic and exciting. As you can see below from the Hendon Mob screenshot there's been a bit of everything.  An exciting 1st in A KKpoker live event, a 2nd and a 3rd, a few other crossbars and I even managed to stone cold bubble the main event in London.   Hendon Mob I'll start with Killarney which only comes second for me to the Irish Open for festival's in Ireland. I've been travelling to poker festivals in Killarney since the late noughties and what a wonderful venue the Gleneagles has always been.  The Champion This years €700 buy-in main event saw one of the toughest late stage line up ever assembled battling it out for the title. The 30 players who returned for day three  of the 881 starters was like a checklist of  great players in the country; Marc MacDonnell, Conor O'Driscoll, Darren Harbinson, Patrick Clarke, Keith Cummins, Seamus Cahill, Chris Dowling, Rory Liffey, Zeke

Summer 24 The Second Half

Image
My last blog which covered the first half of the Summer recalled visiting exotic locations suck as Lisbon and Malaga. This second half of the summer blog is more of the same with tales of visits to exotic Dundalk and Claremorris. I did also manage a trip to London where some wages were pick up and a fruitless return to Bratislava. Bratislava I travelled to Bratislava in the middle of July. I can't seem to get a touch in this casino. I won't stop trying though. It was a great festival and I'll be returning for the Autumn Festival at the end of October.   I did play a live streamed cash game, It was good fun but I spent most of the game in a hole after losing a big pot early. I  eventually finish the game down small. Dundalk   The last weekend in July brought a trip to Dundalk for The Irish Poker Tours Northern Poker Festival. The main event was a €300 entry with €60,000 guaranteed prize pool. The guarantee was smashed again as is the norm with Irish Poker Tours Festivals and

I've been meaning to catch up on the blog for a couple of week now and have finally gotten around to it. I've a lot to cover so forgive me if this blog is a little disjointed.  We'll start with online where I've been grinding a lot recently in between live events. I'm playing mostly online with my sponsors KKpoker and had a good few tournament wins in the last month.    recent online scores KKpoker are currently running satellites where you can win packages for their upcoming Bratislava Poker Festival but be quick as there's only a few chances left. The festival runs  16th to 21 July  I'm really enjoying playing on the site and all my friends who have signed up are very impressed with the software.  KKpoker provide an excellent smooth and fast playing platform, instant rakeback for all players and non-stop bonuses.  If you'd like to sign up to KKpoker and play with me on the site please use my sign up link  https://kkpoker.club/cookiejar    .   It's been a hectic few weeks since my last blog covering the Irish open. Three stops on the Irish Poker tour each resulting in Final table appearances including a trophy. A very enjoyable week spent playing poker in Malta with a couple of good cashes followed by a weeks holiday in Majorca.  recent cashes I also managed to fit in two live satellites for Irish Poker Tours €400,000 Guaranteed Portugal adventure Festival which runs 18/24 June with a €700 Main Event. I won a €1500 package in the Eglington Casino Galway two weeks ago and picked up another package last weekend In the Sporting Emporium Dublin where I beat my good mate and great player Fintan Gavin to win a €2,000 package. Trophy Eglington The Irish Poker Tour had a convenient stop in my local The Eglington Casino Galway the week after the Irish Open. I managed to bag myself my first tour trophy of 2024 in the € 275 + 25 Pot Limit Omaha - 8-Max. First prize was €3,250. My friend Liam "Chevi" Chevalier coming thi

Irish Open 2024

The Festival Before I go into my poker for the week I'd like to congratulate JP McCann & Paul O'Reilly for putting on such a wonderful festival this year.  Last year was the first Irish Open post Covid and also saw a change of venue from the City West to Royal Dublin Society (RDS). It was a big change for organisers and players alike and the 2023 event had a lot of teething problems. I was very happy to see the 2024 festival had sorted these issues out and more. This years event went so smoothly. Everything form choice and timing of side events to the excellent players lounge and entertainment was top class.    I didn't think it was possible to improve the legacy of the Irish Open in this venue but JP & Paul have proved me wrong and deserve great plaudits for the 2024 offerings. Catching up with Friends My Main Event € 1,150 No Limit Hold'em - Irish Open Main Event (Event #11) had 3,233 entries which broke all records. I think 8 bullets were the maximin amount

Lots of Cashing

Image
Lots of Cashing I had some lovely runs in the tournaments that I played over the month of march but ultimately fell a little short in all. My sponsor had a great online series early in the month. My best finish was 9th of the 3200 entrants in the 100k Guaranteed PKO event.      A nice run but just a little shy of a big payout. The series was a great great success for KKpoker and more and more Payers are enjoying this excellent Poker Client.  If you'd like to sign  up to KKpoker please use my sign up link  https://kkpoker.club/cookiejar   If you sign up using this link, contact me on Facebook or Instagram with your username and I'll add $20 to your account straight away. European Deep Stack / Dublin poker festival  The festival started with the ACOP tournament. I struggled to get a stack in this one grinding a small stack towards the money bubble. I thought I was the bubble boy but another player existed the same hand so it was the minimal of min-cashes here for me with a spli
